One “Small” Teaser, One Big Excitement for this Dingo
Well now, this feels surreal to finally see come to fruition, a superhero movie series that was started by FOX finally getting the full reboot treatment.
Back when the merger between 20th Century
Fox and Disney was taking place, those that were actually excited about it –
albeit for fan excitement reasons that I can’t fault the general audience for
entirely, since ya know, most people rightfully so come for the cool characters
– had held their breath and cheered, now many spoke about these characters
finally being justice on the big green since they were back home at Marvel
Studios.
From the get go, while the movie has that digital era blockbuster palette I’m not the biggest fan of (nor is it a deal breaker), they make it work in that the way the palette is mixed with these bright colors and the 60s inspired futuristic set design, it manages to make me feel that bygone era the same way I would from say, illustrations done in a magazine depicting everyday life. So from the get go, the movie has won me over with its visual identity – it sticks out from the recent Marvel affair where things may seem flashy but the general feel and identity to these sets and the worlds post Thanos just…don’t really feel all that interesting to visit – sorta like the boring small towns you go through on a vacation trip to one of the main cities.
WAIT MERCY, I LIKE SMALL TOWNS, I FIND THEM QUITE QUAINT..... So Ben looks perfect and acts perfect too, love his little bonding moment with H.E.R.B.I.E. that feels earnest and not just there for the sake of “we need a quip”. This feels like family banter and from the get go, that is one of the big things that won me over – one of the biggest faults I found with the prior adaptions and honestly a good amount of F4 adaptions is that more often than not you don’t really feel the family dynamic between the characters – which…is a weird thing to miss when you consider how the team has always been described as Marvel’s “First Family”. Costume wise, everything looks great, not sure
how I feel about The Thing in a shirt, but I think that’s more, adjusting to a
change, rather than finding it bad – plus even if I find it tacky, I don’t
know, you could argue that’s the point of the 60s look so I don’t know, but
same time I like the rest so…yeah haven’t been able to nail down my thoughts
there yet. ![]() The teaser captures that perfectly, this
Fantastic Four feel like a family even if it’s unconventional – but I mean,
what is a conventional family, there’s no such thing, family is family, as long
as there’s love. Casting wise, everyone just feels perfect in the roles they were given. Granted
this is the teaser so like all things….. |

Hello, good day, welcome to the blog. I enjoy wordplay, movies, games, creative writing and dad jokes. |
I am reserving final judgement for the movie as
we go along, but first impression wise everyone fits the part perfectly and in some
cases like Sue Storm, she is absolutely perfectly cast and I am curious to see
how she’s written as that’s always been…..something prior adaptions didn’t have
the best of luck with.
Can’t say much about Johnny outside of the fact
his Human Torch form looks good from the brief shot. I just hope they keep in
his donkey attitude, that is one thing the Story duology nailed perfectly.

Gosh he's got such a crap talking grin So far, I am excited for this feature, I do want
to see more trailers first, but as it currently stands, looks like both DC and
Marvel are putting forth their best foot forward for 2025 and I’m happy to see
how it plays out
|
Also
it is gonna be great to see how Galactus plays out in this movie or if future
trailers will spoil more regarding him
Or with it’s actually his daughter who joins the 60s hippie movement, I feel
like at this point anything is possible.
